About Me

My name is Dan Jones and I am a performance coach. I train my athletes in all physical capacities, monitoring training loads, writing strength programs, and bringing them back from injury.

I love the complexities of what I do, analyzing and reacting to the many data streams that I am exposed to on a daily basis. I work closely with the coaching staff, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other team staff to bring out the best in our athletes.

I love how fast things change, how we can plan far into the future while also adjusting those plans as the situation changes.

I love connecting with people from all walks of life, traveling the country and the world, and constantly learning and being challenged.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, I got my undergrad degree in Human Physiology. During my time in Eugene, OR, I helped start the Bowerman Sports Science Clinic where we analyzed and tested Olympic-level runners.

From there, I moved to Frisco, TX for an internship with EXOS, and then back to Portland to work at Twist Sport Conditioning. I then was given the opportunity to work with the LA Galaxy for a few years before once again returning to Portland to work for the Portland Timbers.

I hope you find this site useful and informative. Sometimes it will simply be a stream of my consciousness and other times slightly more organized articles. Regardless, I hope you are able to take something from it and utilize it in your own practice.
